I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

Afternoon shadows.

Afternoon shadows are temporary....fleeting....limited....perishable.

Shadows move.  They strike at different places in our lives depending on several things such as time and location of the sun.
Does the shadow highlight the spot where we see it or is there more to the shadow; something within the shadow perhaps?
Thanks to this particular shadow, it's easy for us to imagine the starfish under water.

Colors seem brighter in the shadow.
This shadow tells us that the end of the day is near.

I think this shadow invites us to sit and read in the old rocker.
Who hides in the shadows in the cemetery?
A mirror image of the window shines in this shadow.
A divine shadow.
The barn seems to project outside of the painting.

Shadows uncover the dust in this old seaside cottage.

"Time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind."
Nathaniel Hawthorne

 An additional shadow.
