I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

An early Spring hike on Maine's Midcoast.

Although it's still a bit chilly, it was a beautiful afternoon

to hike through Laverna Preserve in Bristol.
We had several hours before the sun set completely and the shadows were a bit mysterious.
This particular shadow cast by branches is my favorite.

Moss creates a nice pallet of green.
The trail ahead.

A sure sign of Spring.....skunk cabbage!
So calm.

It's important to stay on the trail.

This particular property is home to several lovely stonewalls.
Close enough to see the water.

The moon was rising before us as the sun was setting behind us.

A quintessential shot of Maine's rocky coast.

We turned around to hike out.  The edge of the woods called us back.

Art in the form of a gnarled piece of wood.
A nice afternoon.
