We literally stumbled upon this house by accident. There's no for sale sign. No signs of life. The roof line is straight and the clapboard looks to be in good shape. So why is it abandoned? Sadly, we see empty
antique houses like this more often than we'd like. Probably built in the 1800's, I can picture it with the garden in bloom, the windows wide open, and a summer breeze blowing the curtains. The wide pine floors gleaming. Likewise, I imagine a cozy fireplace inside adorned with Christmas stockings and a Christmas tree decorated with handmade ornaments. The home is surrounded by lovely old stone walls; you can barely make out steps up to the house in this photo. With many outbuildings on the property we can only surmise that it was busy with farmhands and animals. There are curtains in the windows. Who hung them?
Did the large pine trees once hold Christmas lights? Such a beautiful piece of property on an old New England back road. It's my humble opinion that in this condition, it's a Fix it Upper. We can only hope.
